Alright. Hi. Hi, all. Good morning. So so welcome to the DNP scaling playbook, a framework of resilience, maturity, and speed. So this webinar and accompanying white paper serves as a a practical blue blueprint for CTOs, CAOs, and CSOs within our digital native businesses. So our aim is to provide a clear structured approach to help your DNP transition effectively from a dynamic startup to a truly scalable enterprise. So we'll explore how to mitigate the accumulation of complexity that and accelerate your development cycles and ultimately build a resilient and future proof organization. So my name is Ajay. I'm a part of solution engineering team here in Bangalore, India, and I'll be taking you through this webinar. Right. So, yeah, without further wasting time, so I'll just jump into the content. So, again, digital native businesses or DNPs are renowned for their agility and their ability to leverage modern technologies to disrupt markets and achieve rapid early growth. Yet, this very velocity often conceals a fundamental paradox, The tools and practices that drive initial success, such as fragment application, fast paced development cycles, versatile generalist team can ironically become source of significant complexity as the business case. Right? So this complexity can inhibit organization momentum, slowing innovation, inflating operational cost, and, critically, expanding the attack surface. So we have a poll. In in between the slides, we'll be showing a few polls, so please please vote for that. Right? So poll one is live now, and just feel free to vote. Right? And to to resolve the scaling paradox, right, so we argue for a strategic architecture transformation. Again, the solution isn't simply adding more point solutions, rather it lies on adult adopting the connectivity cloud as a foundational architecture element. So what is connectivity cloud? So it's a unified cloud native platform designed to deliver secure, seamless, any to any connectivity. So this is critical, any to any any connectivity. This can be between your users and workload, or it can be between your workload to workload. Right? And this connectivity across diverse IT environments. Right? So it its purpose is to manage the in the integrate nature of modern multi cloud and distributed ecosystem and enabling organization organization to regain control over their expanding digital footprint. Implementing Cloudflare's connectivity cloud delivers three crucial benefit for technology leaders. Right? Firstly, it leads to accelerated delta velocity. Engineering team can shift their focus from Ardu's infrastructure management to core product innovation. Secondly, it results in a strengthened security posture by applying consistent zero trust framework across all users, applications, and data. Finally, it offers optimized total cost of ownership by consolidating vendors, reducing operational overhead. Organization can achieve significant cost savings, partially up to 40%. Right. Now let's delve into dynamics of scale. So DNPs don't evolve in a vacuum. So their growth is profoundly influenced by complex interplay of the powerful external forces and accumulated internal pressures. So while new technologies prompt this acceleration, they often introduce fresh layer of complicity risk. Similarly, decision making decision made in the pursuit of initial speed can compound over time into long term operational liabilities. For technology leaders, a clear understanding of both market tailwinds and organization headwind is essential for charting a sustainable scaling strategy. So three major technological megatrends are reshaping the community landscape. Firstly, AI is moving from promise to reality. We are seeing sevenfold surge in investment in generative AI with large language models now processing millions of tokens, enabling far more complex applications. However, this rapid adoption comes with cost, with AI contributing to technical debt and creating new threats from automated AI crawlers, scraping proprietary content. Secondly, the decentralization of Internet is accelerating. So this is driven by the need for low latency, real time experience, pushing data processing closer to the source. So this trend renders traditional centralized security model obsolete. So after network perimeter dissolves into thousands of distributed endpoints. Finally, these trends can most to make zero trust not just a best practice, but a necessity. So beyond the external forces, internal pressures often rooted in early stage decision post a immediate threat to DNB's ability to scale. So the most persistent and costly of this is a rate of technical debt. So in the rate to achieve product market fit, DNPs frequently make architectural trade off that over time accumulate in those strategic liability. Like financial debt, technical debt accrue interest, slowing innovation, and increased maintenance overhead. So this technical burden has a direct and damaging impact to talent retention, leading to what we call the the talent drain effect. So top engineering talent prefers solving meaningful problems and not navigating fragmented dead ladders system, which often result in double put burnout and high turnover. Right. So the interplay of this external and internal pressure is not static. It evolves and intensifies as the DNB grows. And to help navigate this evolution, we developed a framework that visualizes the journey through distinct stages of maturity, each with its own priorities and hurdles. So think of this as a diagnostic tool, allowing leaders to identify the current position and anticipate the challenges that lie ahead. So this progression highlights a critical question. How can a D and B break the cycle, build a architecture that supports rather than hinders long term growth? So call number two is live. Please work for it. So now let's examine common pitfalls. Right? So typical DNP architecture rarely begins as a grand design. Instead, it evolves organically. As new challenge arise, new tools are simply added, leading to fragmented ecosystem of disconnected technologies. The ad hoc approach carries significant long term consequences. Firstly, it leads to extensive tools sprawl. An average company now manages over 300 different SaaS applications. Create a chaotic and inefficient environment that policies are siloed and difficult to enforce. This brings productivity with IT teams reporting spending up to 42% of the time on system maintenance and building custom integration just to make the display system work. Right? So this diverts valuable engineering resource from innovation to low value plumbing tasks. Secondly, the major cloud providers are indispensable, rely extensively on native hyperscaler tools, presents its own challenges, including vendor lock in and and predictable data egress fees. And, critically, hyperscale has also powerful but isolated components, leaving DNBs with complex time consuming responsibility of stitching these components into cursive, secure, and high performing architecture, especially in multi cloud environments. And poll number three is live. So continuing the the solution to the definition of returns of fragmented architecture is not to add more components, but to introduce a unified architectural layer. So this is precisely where the connectivity cloud comes in. It's crucial to understand it's not a replacement for hyperscalers, but rather a complementary abstraction layer that sits above them. So hyperscalers for the foundational compute and storage primitives, which are essential. However, modern DNDs inherit infinitely operate in multi cloud environments, leveraging a mix of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings from various providers. So the native tools of one Hyperscale are simply aren't built to manage, secure, and connect resources across another's ecosystem, leading to operation silos and inefficiencies. The connectivity cloud acts as a bridge for this gap. It serves as a connectivity tissue of modern enterprise, integrating networking, security, and developers services into a unified programmable control plane. So crucially, this operates independently of the underlying infrastructure, and this abstraction layer significantly simplifies complexity of managing multiple clouds and services at scale. This strategy advantage of this model become abundantly clear when contrasted with fragmented status quo. So instead of wrestling with the spread tools and architecture, organization gain a coherent, secure, and scalable foundation for innovation. And so firstly, deep integration. So it natively integrate with all networks, both private and public, offering secure, low latency, and scalable connectivity, providing complete control of a request from source to destination. Secondly, programmability. It it features a composable API first architecture, ensuring interoperability between existing system, allowing for seamless integration and customizable, fully programmable from layer one to seven connectivity of the OSI layer. Thirdly, a built in platform intelligence. The platform embeds advanced security, performance, and compliance capabilities that operate in a concert and are continuously updated. So by analyzing vast volumes of global traffic, it delivers real time cross functional intelligence, enabling proactive detection and mitigation of sophisticated threats that isolate isolated point solution offer miss, such as AI crawlers. So lastly, our unified interface, it provides a single control plane for all services, which is key to reduce tool sprawl, eliminating dashboard overhead, and mitigating the alert fatigue that plagues security and operating teams. So of the four pillars of connectivity cloud, built in intelligence is fundamentally underpinned by zero trust principles as defined in NIST SP eight double zero two zero seven. So three three three key principles guides its operation. First, continuous verification. So avoiding the never trust, always verify philosophy, no user, device, or application is trusted by default. Every access request undergoes strict ongoing identity and device checks, replacing the outdated castle and mode model. Second, to limit the blast radius by enforcing least privilege and using micro segmentation, the platform limit access and contains threats preventing lateral movement in case of a breach. Finally, automate context collection and response. So access is dynamically grown by real time signals like identity, device posture, or location. A central policy engine continuously evaluates this input to adapt security decision automatically and carried out by distributed policy enforcement points throughout the network to enabling intelligent and granular access decisions at scale without human intervention. So while we discuss the architecture blueprint, this this section provides a practical road map. So adopting CloudFlare's connect to the cloud isn't a single overhaul, but an iterative journey that scales with digital native businesses. So it's a phased approach that allows organization to activate new capabilities as they're needed, evolving the platform from a tactical solution into a strategic assets. The experience of a DNP, much like those discussed in the white paper, exemplifies this progression. So that engagement with such a platform would begin with a specific need and gradually expand to address broader challenges. So highlighting how a unified platform can support every growth of every stage of the growth and adapting to increasingly complex demands. So please do work on poll number four. So yeah. So stage one, establishing foundation security. So the primary risk of any new DNP is ensuring its core digital assets, like its websites and APIs, remains available and protected from common web attacks. So this provides an essential shield establishing the trust and reliability need to attract initial users. For instance, a DNB's journey would typically begin by protecting its primary web presence from attacks, ensuring platform remains online, and performance for its growth user base, establishing a secure foundation for for all future growths. And with this foundation in place, the next challenges emerges as a team itself begin to grow. Right. So moving to stage two, securing a growing workforce. As DNB's team expands to include remote employees, third party contractors, the traditional corporate VPN quickly becomes a bottleneck and a significant security risk due to its overly broad network access. The unified solution here is to replace legacy VPN with a modern zero trust network access solution or ZPNA. So this approach secures secures connection for every user, both employees and contractors based on their identity rather than their physical location. So it doesn't mean that if the if the employee is in office, he can be trusted. Right? So as a DNP experiences hyper growth, relying on shared passwords, VPN becomes untenable. By adopting a Zrotus approach, such an organization can provide secure identity based access to internal application for every user without a VPN, saving the engineering effort of building a custom identity system. Once secure access is established for distributed team, the focus then shifts to protecting the data and devices they use. So poll number five. And space the space space free and deepening the zero trust posture. Securing the connection alone is often not enough. A truly mature security posture demands verifying the full context of that connection, including the user, devices, and the data itself. So the unified solution involves integrating multiple source of truth, such as identifying identify providers and device health checks to make more intelligent access decisions. A DNV's commitment to this can be demonstrated by providing every employee with a secure access. A unified platform allows such an organization to seamlessly layer on advanced capabilities like device posture check, browser isolation for contractors, and data loss prevention policies, DLP policies, all managed from a single control plane. Once access and data are secured, the focus can then shift from pure defense to enhancing the user experience where performance and level, they become paramount. So stage four, delivering global performance and resilience. The challenge of global DNP is delivering a consistently fast and reliable user experience. This demands moving beyond a centralized cloud architecture to significantly reduce latency. The unified solution involves moving application logic and compute to the network edge physically closer to the end user. Our DNP can leverage serverless compute platforms to solve sophisticated performance challenges, such as serving device specific cache pages to improve SEO. Furthermore, a service outage could highlight the critical importance of resilience where a deep partnership with a single platform provide provider proves instrumental in diagnosing the root cause and storing services quickly. With a resilient and performing platform serving users globally, the final stage of maturity involves protecting the core business assets itself, its intellectual property. Right? So finally, we reached stage five, protecting intellectual property in the age of AI. As a DNP becomes successful, its most valuable assets, its unique content and data becomes a primary target for automated attacks, particularly from AI crawlers that scrape content to train proprietary models. The ultimate stage of maturity is not just about blocking malicious traffic, but implementing a deliberate strategy to control how foundational AI models can access and use its individual property. For example, a DNP with a library of valuable content or decent templates could become a primary target for sophisticated scraping bots. Deploying a rob robust bot management solution can protect its core IP and secure revenue streams. This challenge is widespread based by leading content platforms that require control over how their content is used to train the next generation of AI models. And in conclusion, the journey of digital native business is one of the, continuous transformation while, this organization are are built for speed. As the scale, they inevitably confront of complexity crisis. The fragmented tools and and tactical infrastructure choices that enable initial growth can begin to generate diminishing returns, acting as a break on innovation, inflating cost and creating security gaps. So overcoming this challenge is is a defining task of maturing DNP. It's absolutely requires a fundamental architecture shift. The primary benefit of this architecture shift is strategy reallocation of d n b DNP's most, precious resource, its engineering talent, and its capital. By abstracting every complexity of managing and securing distributed and multi cloud infrastructure. This approach allows engineering to shift their focus from infrastructure maintenance to their core mission, building innovative products and creating exceptional user experience. It allows capital to be invested directly in growth rather than being consumed by redundant vendor contracts, spiraling operation overhead. Ultimately, this approach transforms a fast scaling business into resilient of future ready enterprise. So it provides a blueprint not just for surviving complexity, but for driving it. So empowering DNP to lead into the next wave of digital disruption, including shaping their role in emerging economy. Right? So having that that so we concluded our webinar on on the DNP businesses. So if you have any question, feel free to post it in the chat window. And, also, we have also attached a certain documents in in the doc section, which is for Cloudflare digital native businesses and our use case for shop online, which is one of the digital native businesses who can achieve the same with with Cloudflare. So there is no questions yet. So Okay. So no questions. I think so thanks all for joining the session. So I'll be stopping my screen sharing. Also, yeah, if you have any questions, you can leave the questions in top right on q and a box. Right? So we'll try to ensure that we will answer any questions. Where can I get the file? So I think on the doc section, you can get the file, which will be on the top right. Okay. So the presentation file, I'm not sure with how it can be shared, but we'll try to upload it to the doc session. Oh, yes. I think Vinay has responded with. Thanks. Thanks, Vinay. Alright. So before closing, we can go through the poll questions and votes. Right? So the first question is, like, what is the most significant consequence your company is currently experiencing from its complex fragmented infrastructure. So the majority of the votes is for inflated operational cost and tools. Right? So the same thing what we discussed. So the end base will be having multiple or, like, hundreds of tools, and it could be hard to manage. And, obviously, it adds operational complexity, like, different dashboard, different tools, different APIs, and it will be had to man had to manage. Right? And the second question is, like, which approach best describes how your DNP manages? It's with multi cloud or or distributed IT environment. So the the the and the answer with the most words is, like, adding new specialized point solution for new challenges. Right? And the third question which is following is the most immediate practical consequence of our technical debt in your engineering organization. Right? So the the answer with the most time is the increased time spent on low value maintenance and integrations, also called clumping. Right? So the the next question, like, what is the current status of your company's zero trust security implementation? So we are still using a VPN and legacy network. Yes. A lot of DNTs still use legacy VPNs, and it's time to shift away from using legacy VPNs to also trust based access control. And the last question is, like, which challenge which challenge is your technology leadership team actively prioritizing for next twelve months? And the the answer is, like, implementing a zero trust network access solution. Yes. So most of the leaders are still planning and prioritizing zero trust framework as as the number one priority. And number two answer I just figured out is, like, protecting unique intellectual property from AI callers and voice. Obviously, any any any business with their content as a core of the business, you have to have a solution to protect it from being crawled from random trollers or even from boards which can be which use your content for training the foundational models. Right? Alright, team. So thank you so much for joining on on Tuesday morning. So wishing you all the best for the session. Thank you.
